Emergencies

At Internal Medicine & Pediatrics of Tampa Bay, we provide preventative care and address acute and chronic illnesses.  However, we also know our limitations.  We are not an emergency room or an urgent care center.  Many problems need more acute medical care than we can provide.  Such examples may include chest pain, trouble breathing, seizures, dehydration, and trauma.  It is always best to call 911 in true emergencies or go to a center that can provide the best care for the issue.  At times, our staff may refer patients to another treatment facility, in efforts to provide the most appropriate medical care. Our doctors recommend St. Joseph’s Hospital on MLK or St. Joseph’s Hospital North on Dale Mabry and Van Dyke.
